Although I found the heroine, Caroline, to be a prig and her niece Cecelia a selfish child, I loved Tristan.....he saved the book on every level. It is a very good read and the plot was good....especially the end. Too bad Cecelia didnt end up with Wyman...would have served both parties right. Can you imagine feeling over the hill at age 28?! Recommend to especially women 30 and older.

Sense Sensuality Caroline After Dark Georgian Romance The Gravesmeres Book 3 edition by Alicia Quigley Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I've liked every book by this author. This particular series has both a clean version and an "after dark" (sexy) version. A few annoying things, but I can't remember them enough to write about them. Normally not a fan of overly descriptive books but this one makes me wish for illustrations. Imagine paper dolls with all of the beautiful clothes (men's &women's). Best thing- free
I just recently discovered Ms Quigley's novels, and I am gradually buying all of them for my iPad. Her characters are well filled out, and her plots are, well well plotted. The reformed rake could be a cliche in less skilled hands, but Tristan is very believable as we follow his journey to respectability. Caroline, widowed and very proper, is the perfect foil for the handsome but scorned gentleman. Looking to the next one, Isobel.
Biggest complaint was that I had to wait for this book.

I was not the biggest fan of duchess enraged but I fell in love with Gresham and Caroline in that book and knew before I read the teaser for sense & sensuality that they would be good together. This book is funny, passionate, and sweet but most importantly there are no major misunderstanding like in duchess enraged that make you want to strangle the characters for being so blind. I love how Gresham and Caroline are so sensible and how they find humor together in the idiocy surrounding them. They are a perfect match.

Best part is when Caroline makes Gresham hide behind the settee to prevent her cousin from knowing he is there and Gresham "teaches her a lesson in manners" for denying her acquaintance with him.
It's a great book I really don't think there is anything to complain about. Definitely worth rereading.
Caroline Countess of Eskmaince and Tristan Baron Greshem you met in the earlier book The DuchessEnraged. Caroline helped her brother Adam and his wife Allerga try to make a go of their marriage. Tristan had a big part in causing them problems. He did help Caroline in the end with getting them back together. You fast forward to two years later Tristan was in Vienna and was bored with his decadent life.He still thought of Caroline from time to time. He decided to come back to England and change his life. Caroline was a widow for 4 years with a six year old child. She was tired of being the proper one everyone depending on her.She dances with Tristan at a ball and decides he is the one for her to have her first affair. They begin to meet as much as they can .Her cousin Cecellia comes to town for her season and she wants a rich husband Caroline has been appointed to see that it happens.Sparks fly between Caroline and Tristan but she thinks he can never be faithful .He tries to convince her otherwise. You will meet Adam.Allerga , Adam's and Tristan's ex mistress, also someone determined to get Tristan.Cecellia is a silly girl and causes a lot of problems. This is a very sexy book but what a good story to go along with it.As another reviewer said the first book would help you understand who some of the characters are. It is explained who they are. If you like a sexy love story with a HEA this book is for you. I had been waiting for their story after reading the first book. I hope you have another book in the works.I really enjoy reading the author's books
Caroline and Tristan's story is the second in this series. "A Most Unusual Situation' is the first. These novels are most enjoyable when read together. Then you find out what happens to both the sister, brother and cousin of the family. I love series that take me from beginning to end with one family. By the end, they are like old friends and family. When I met Caro & Gresham in the first book, I was already rooting for them to get together. There's nothing like a strong woman who meets a rake. You know the ending will be awesome when it starts out like that. I highly recommend these two novels and all the novels by Ms. Quigley(s). They are awesome writers.
I have yet to read A Duchess Enraged An After Dark Version Georgian Romance, the first novel in the After Dark series. Quigley sets the story in Sense & Sensuality Caroline’s After Dark Georgian Romance as a stand alone showing us the lack of trust stemming from events of the first novel through dialogue and reflection.

Caroline is a loyal, intelligent and spirited. Frequently in the romance genre, characters are described as spirited but come off as a bit silly. Their reactions in the story line are contrary to their independence. They need a man for balance. They are prone to stomping their feet and seeing pigheaded stubbornness as an ability to stand on ones own. Don’t get me wrong, those characters can be fun to read as well and, as consistent with the genre, are often quite young. Caroline is mature, even and knows the path she wants to take. She wants adventure, intimacy and to be seen as someone perhaps a bit unpredictable, the character is a breath of fresh air.

Tristan sees himself as having been a bit led and foolish as a younger man. The level of hostility from Caroline’s family might seem out of place in Sense & Sensuality Caroline’s After Dark Georgian Romance but the author makes clear that it’s well earned in her novel A Duchess Enraged An After Dark Version Georgian Romance set a few years prior to this work. Tristan, with the benefit of maturity, has found the sort of fun he once thoroughly enjoyed to not be so entertaining and revenge to be an endeavor that wins for no one. He’s ready to settle down and have children but he will never be one to settle. His eyes are on a particular prize and he’s never one to let things stand in his way.
